This New Honda Hybrid Wins IIHS 2018 "Top Safety Pick"

Some cars have good looks, while others have cutting-edge technology. Some cars have incredible fuel-efficiency, while others have excellent performance. The state-of-the-art 2019 Honda Insight has it all, and now it’s got the top prize for vehicle safety to the top of the list. The Honda Insight has just won the 2018 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's (IIHS) highest overall safety rating of TOP SAFETY PICK+.
You’ve probably heard of the award before, but here’s how it works: to qualify for the 2018 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award, a vehicle must earn "GOOD" ratings in the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests and an "ACCEPTABLE" or "GOOD" rating in the passenger-side small overlap test. It also needs an available front crash prevention system that earns an "ADVANCED" or "SUPERIOR" rating and available good-rated headlights.
And the Insight crushed it, thanks to top ratings in all crashworthiness tests, as well as high marks for the Insight's LED headlights and a "SUPERIOR" rating for the Collision Mitigation Braking System™ feature, which is part of the standard Honda Sensing® suite of advanced driver-assistive and active safety technologies (a standard feature on the Insight).
Insight continues to prove that it's much more than just a pretty face with great fuel-efficiency ratings. With standard Honda Sensing® active safety tech and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, Insight is a hybrid with some serious safety chops.
