What's New For 2025?

For 2025, the Civic gets a subtle update for styling with revised headlights and a redefined bumper to set it apart. The biggest change for this year is the inclusion of the hybrid powertrain on Sport and Sport Touring trims. The 200-horsepower hybrid is standard on the Touring, and it gets paired with an Electronic Continuously Variable Transmission (E-CVT).

Who's It For?

The Honda Civic Sedan is a popular choice for first-time new car buyers. Its base 2.0-liter, 150 hp engine provides an even, responsive ride, and the 36 MPG combined fuel economy makes this a budget-friendly commuter, as well. The 2025 Civic will also appeal to safety-conscious drivers. A range of safety features, including forward collision warning and collision mitigation braking assist, are standard on all models. Finally, commuters who value tech features, like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, will find plenty of connectivity options and the ability to upgrade from a seven to nine-inch infotainment screen.

Real World Performance

The 2025 Honda Civic puts a premium on practicality. Its 2.0L I-4 engine is a true fuel sipper. It delivers 41 MPG on the highway and 32 in the city, even without the hybrid powertrain. There are two drive modes, Eco and Standard, even on the base LX model. The gas-powered Sport and both hybrid trims add a sport mode for better responsiveness and handling.

The Hybrid Sport and Hybrid Sport Touring trims increase the power with a high-torque electric motor that delivers 181 hp and 232 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the standard 2.0L I-4, it delivers a total of 200 hp, increasing performance while also dropping fuel economy figures to 49 MPG combined city and highway driving. The Hybrid Sport Touring trim also comes with an Individual drive mode that allows you to set performance to your specifications so that the Civic responds exactly as you want to your acceleration and steering inputs.
