The base model Civic LX, EX, and EX-L come with a 174 horsepower naturally-aspirated 4-cylinder engine, while the premium Sport and Sport Touring packages utilize a turbocharged upgrade that boosts performance to an impressive 180 horsepower. In the handling, you’ll feel the advantage of the Civic’s longer wheelbase and wider, more aggressive stance, especially with the standard MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspensions. All packages offer either a 6-speed manual transmission or automatic Continuously Variable Transmission, which is matched to each available engine type to optimize power without sacrificing fuel efficiency.
